About The Position

As Canada’s largest manufacturer of steel building systems, BEHLEN values its people and community. Behlen Industries LP manufactures steel buildings for recreational, commercial, and industrial markets and is a proud member of WGI Westman Group Inc. This role is responsible for completing preliminary designs and providing price cost estimates based on the evaluation and interpretation of customer-supplied information. Estimators must work within code requirements, proper engineering practices, building system standards, and the system costing structure. They also act as a contact, assisting in the coordination of information and providing customer service to new and established customers.

Requirements

Completion of a Structural, Civil, Biosystems or Mechanical Engineering Technical diploma or degree.
One to two years related experience with estimating building structures in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD programs.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
Above average mathematical skills; a strong, resourceful problem solver.
Attention to detail, time and priority management.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment, continually adapt to change and work under pressure.

Nice To Haves

A Certified Engineering Technologist or equivalent designation.
Combinations of experience and relevant courses.
Experience with 3D design and animation programs.
