About The Position

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Structural / Revit Technician to assist structural engineers by providing building information (BIM) modeling. In this role, you will prepare Structural Revit models of buildings and tenant improvements of varying types, and prepare Structural construction documents including plans, elevations, schedules, and details. You will collaborate with structural engineers and other disciplines via both in-person and Teams-based meetings and with cloud-based federated models. You will also participate in multi-discipline/multi-contractor clash detection and resolution of internal mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process systems with structural supports and building core and shell structure. Additional responsibilities include performing redline drafting, reading and duplicating existing structural plans for use in building additions or renovations, and mentoring interns and entry-level designers. This role involves working in both office-based and project site-based locations.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related degree or combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required.
  • 3- 5 years of experience with Revit.
  • Experience with Building Structures required.
  • Ability to visualize and illustrate design in two and three dimensions.
  • Ability to balance several projects at once.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Navisworks preferred.
  • Revit or Autodesk Certification preferred.
