Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge in Statics, Mechanics of Materials, and other related topics.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis in support of new design and production support activities.
  • Provide analysis and structural design support on fleet aircraft modifications and existing production aircraft.
  • Review Engineering Drawings and Digital Data to ensure efficient load path and adequate structural strength and stiffness.
  • Keep detailed Stress Notes on design changes and production non-conformances.
  • Utilize Finite Element Software to solve complex structural problems.
  • Prepare Structural Reports in support of FAA compliance findings.
