We have an opportunity for a Structural Project Engineer with interests in demolition engineering, structural forensic investigation, litigation support, and structural repair design. This role includes up to 30% travel within the United States to support demolition engineering projects and conduct field investigations at project sites. You will be expected to execute complex demolition engineering projects, perform structural investigations of existing structures and design remedial repairs for deficient conditions. Investigations will include failure cause and origin analysis, repair feasibility analysis, insurance claim evaluation, litigation support, and emergency response. You will provide direction to, and review the work product of, junior-level staff, coordinate with other project managers on interdisciplinary efforts, support marketing efforts, and develop and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

  • Degree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 4+ years of structural engineering experience with proficiency in analysis and documentation tools like SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, RISA-3D, PCA software, Revit, or AutoCAD.
  • Field experience with various types of structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and review demolition analysis and planning.
  • Coordinate with contractors on large-scale demolition projects.
  • Perform and review structural analysis and repair design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
  • Perform site visits to support forensic investigations, including surveying and documenting observations, photographing, and sketching.
  • Research historical background of diverse structures, technical issues, and code issues.
  • Prepare technical and investigative reports and presentation materials.
