The Role Stratus recently partnered with PVEDI and is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join the team. This person will specialize in structural engineering by analyzing building structures, and related structural elements and site conditions for new and existing construction projects. This role will review contractors’ work, prepare design packages, and the development of documentation that communicates complex technical concepts to clients clearly and effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (Master's degree strongly preferred)
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification
  • 3-6 Years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design
  • Experience using RISA and RAM, or similar design/analysis software
  • Experience with various materials including but not limited to steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with complex or large-scale engineering projects
  • Experience with NYC specific projects and understanding of local requirements
  • Experience with Revit modeling software
  • Strong technical writing skills for reports, memos, and calculations
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities with cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized approach with ability to complete multiple tasks under a deadline

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis, design and detailing for diverse structure types using various building codes
  • Coordinate design work with in-house staff and other design professionals including Contractors, Architects and Engineers
  • Prepare construction documents within a Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment
  • Develop precise design specifications and calculations for active projects
  • Create technical reports with clear structure and language that clients can easily understand
  • Collaborate with contractors to resolve construction issues
  • Support project management by maintainingschedules, processing change orders, and monitoring budgets
