About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Structural Prefab Techician to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA! You will work and average of 54 hrs per week (including overtime) between 7 am - 5:30 pm, M-F. There is overtime every other Saturday from 6 am - 2:30 pm. The hourly range for this position is $16.50-$18.15 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The Structural Prefab Technician prepares, lasers, shears, and fabricates metal components used in the construction of modular buildings. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, perform measurements and calculations, operate fabrication equipment, and complete routine to semi‑complex fabrication tasks with limited supervision. The technician supports production schedules, quality standards, and continuous improvement efforts within the Structural Prefab department. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating press brake, laser, shear, turret, and measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
  • Basic math, calculation, and measurement skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to stand for full shifts and perform bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, pushing, and pulling with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 lbs. repeatedly with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to use both hands to position and manipulate materials
  • Ability to work in dusty or industrial environments
  • Clear vision with or without corrective lenses
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety eyewear and steel‑toed boots
  • Ability to work overtime

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming fabrication equipment
  • Manufacturing or modular building experience
  • Forklift or overhead hoist experience

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment (laser, shear, press brake, turret) to cut and form metal components to specification
  • Layout, position, rotate, and secure materials on machines, beds, roller tables, and turntables
  • Inspect fabricated parts using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges, templates) to verify quality and dimensions
  • Perform basic programming and preventative maintenance of fabrication equipment
  • Use hand tools to align, adjust, and secure components during fabrication
  • Operate ancillary equipment such as hoists, notchers, and forklifts as required
  • Receive, stage, and put away materials as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through housekeeping, 5S, and scrap removal
  • Assist with training and cross‑training initiatives as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Manufacturing Manager
