About The Position

The Structural Prefab Technician prepares, lasers, shears, and fabricates metal components used in the construction of modular buildings. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, perform measurements and calculations, operate fabrication equipment, and complete routine to semi‑complex fabrication tasks with limited supervision. The technician supports production schedules, quality standards, and continuous improvement efforts within the Structural Prefab department. Requirements

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Minden, LA facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Ability to stand for full shifts and perform bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, pushing, and pulling with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to work in dusty or industrial environments

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
Basic math, calculation, and measurement skills
Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to work with limited supervision

Nice To Haves

Experience programming fabrication equipment
Experience operating press brake, laser, shear, turret, and measuring equipment
Manufacturing or modular building experience
Forklift or overhead hoist experience

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules
Set up and operate fabrication equipment (laser, shear, press brake, turret) to cut and form metal components to specification
Layout, position, rotate, and secure materials on machines, beds, roller tables, and turntables
Inspect fabricated parts using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges, templates) to verify quality and dimensions
Perform basic programming and preventative maintenance of fabrication equipment
Use hand tools to align, adjust, and secure components during fabrication
Operate ancillary equipment such as hoists, notches, and forklifts as required
Receive, stage, and put away materials as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through housekeeping, 5S, and scrap removal
Assist with training and cross‑training initiatives as directed
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Manufacturing Manager
