This position is for the Sheetmetal Shop on 2nd shift. In a team-oriented work environment, under moderate supervision, performs a variety of structural assembly operations in a production department. The role involves performing assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, and varied drilling and riveting operations, ensuring parts/assembly meet FAA requirements, customer specifications, and Gulfstream's standard of quality. The mechanic will rivet structural assemblies and parts, including sheetmetal parts, using all necessary tools. They will read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations, type, size, and hole pattern for rivets. The role also includes checking all work to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection, maintaining and using logs and records, and using the resource planning system to enter daily labor. Additional responsibilities include aligning and assembling parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, supporting the company 5S Program, and complying with all safety regulations. The position also supports Lean Activities and participates in continuous improvement activities.
