About The Position

Techno is seeking a Structural Inspector (Concrete) to support construction and rehabilitation work in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience in bridge and transportation projects, hands-on experience inspecting structural concrete elements, and a strong understanding of applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements, including work with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA).

Requirements

Prior experience performing construction bridge inspections on transportation infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with bridge construction methods, materials, and quality assurance procedures.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of NJDOT, NJTA, and other regional agency standards and inspection procedures.

Nice To Haves

ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade l is preferred.
Bridge inspection or heavy highway/transportation project experience preferred.
Experience working on NJTA projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform field inspections of structural concrete work for bridges and transportation infrastructure projects.
Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, plans, and applicable standards.
Inspect reinforcing steel, formwork, concrete placement, curing, and finishing operations.
Verify material compliance, including concrete mix designs, delivery tickets, and placement procedures.
Document daily inspection reports, field observations, and non-conformance issues.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and agency representatives.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and site-specific safety requirements.
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
