The Structural Fitting Supervisor oversees and supervises daily work activities with personnel, plans work activities in accordance with construction schedule and budgets, and assigns manpower to work activities. This role adheres to schedule objectives, cost, and quality, ensuring personnel have the necessary resources (equipment, tools, material) to perform tasks. The supervisor prepares and submits project status and progress reports weekly at a task level and participates in the review of project labor and material costs. They coordinate material needs at the job site, read and analyze charts, work orders, or production schedules to determine production requirements, and interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers. Additionally, the supervisor confers with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities, gets members of a group to work together (including sub-contractors), and coordinates production with other supervisors, trades, quality assurance, and management. Recommendations or implementations are made to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency. The supervisor confers with the superintendent to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances, examines and inspects work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met, and trains workers in construction methods and operation of equipment. They provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance, evaluate team performance, assist in employee performance evaluations, identify deficiencies and potential problem areas, and initiate corrective action. The role monitors performance to safety policies, complies with administrative procedures, assists in the development and implementation of production procedures and processes, requisitions materials and supplies, and suggests and initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and hires.
