About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Structural Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The Structural Fitter is responsible for fitting, cutting, aligning, and tack welding structural materials according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint-reading skills, experience working with structural shapes and sizes, basic welding knowledge, and the ability to safely use torches, measuring instruments, and hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
Basic welding knowledge and experience.
Strong basic math skills.
Knowledge of structural shapes, sizes, and materials.
Ability to safely work with a torch.
Experience with beveling and/or bevel machining.
Ability to use conventional measuring and layout instruments.
Ability to safely operate manual and power tools.
Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate measurements.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
Prepare welding joints and materials for fabrication.
Cut structural materials to required dimensions.
Fit, align, and tack materials according to drawings and specifications.
Verify dimensions and alignment using conventional measuring instruments.
Complete inspection reports, inspection requests, and other required documentation.
Perform finish grinding using manual and power tools.
Safely operate torches and equipment used for cutting and beveling materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
Communicate effectively with welders, supervisors, inspectors, and other team members.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
