About The Position
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Structural Fitters for projects located in or around Jennings, LA. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is $28-$33/hour based on experience and skill level. Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of structural fitting experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to perform tack welding
- Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Fit structural steel components including beams, columns, and plate in a fabrication shop environment
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Lay out and measure materials accurately
- Fit components to required tolerances
- Perform tack welding as needed prior to final weld-out
- Align structural members and prepare materials for fabrication
- Check dimensions and verify proper fit-up
- Coordinate with welders to ensure proper joint configuration and structural integrity
- Operate FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW welding processes
- Use flame-cutting equipment and metal-forming tools including brakes, shears, and presses
