About The Position

The Nucor Buildings Group (NBG) Commercial Services Team is seeking a qualified Structural Engineering Supervisor to steer our dedicated Design Team towards greater efficiency and innovation. This full-time position offers the chance to directly influence our sales and profitability by ensuring our designs are safe, economical, and meet the needs of our customers.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET Accredited school.
1 year of leadership experience leading a team of multiple individuals.

Nice To Haves

P.E. and/or S.E. Registration
2 years of metal building industry experience.

Responsibilities

Lead the Design Team: Oversee daily activities, ensuring design projects are completed on time with high quality.
Recruitment and Hiring: Coordinate with HR to execute recruitment strategies, conduct interviews, and make informed hiring decisions that contribute to the strength and diversity of the team.
Team Development and Mentoring: Actively engage in the professional growth of team members through training, mentoring, and thorough performance evaluations. Make recommendations for compensation adjustments.
Policy and Procedure Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive design policies, procedures, and practices that uphold our commitment to quality and safety.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Commercial Services Manager to forecast and plan for the Design Group’s future, ensuring readiness and adaptability to meet evolving market demands.
Benchmarking and Improvement: Engage with divisions within Nucor to benchmark and adopt best practices, enhancing operational results and customer satisfaction.
Champion Safety: Embody and promote Nucor’s core value of safety by initiating, leading, and always enforcing safety policies and procedures. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
