Structural Engineering Specialist
About The Position
STV is seeking a Structural Engineering Specialist (Buildings) to join its growing Buildings Division team in either Philadelphia or Douglassville, Pennsylvania. The role offers work on a variety of challenging projects, including designing new buildings, retaining walls, and other structures; analyzing existing structures; reviewing and producing construction submittals; and checking contract plans for conformance with established design criteria. The position offers a flexible career path, including a technical track with increasing design and leadership responsibilities. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Requirements
- 0–5 years of experience in structural engineering design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Successful completion of the FE exam (EIT certification).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with structural analysis software packages.
- Strong structural analysis skills.
- Knowledge of steel and concrete design.
- Good time-management skills.
- Willingness to learn and ability to work in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Prepare design calculations for buildings and other structures.
- Develop structural and other drawings for buildings and other structures using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Produce design-related reports.
- Review shop drawings and other construction submittals.
- Design a variety of new structures, including buildings, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structures.
- Analyze existing structures.
- Review contract plans for conformance with established design criteria.
