About The Position
Walker Consultants is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern for its Bellevue office for Summer 2027. The intern will support engineers on structural design, restoration, and forensic projects, contributing to calculations, field investigations, and other project work. The position offers an opportunity to apply classroom learning, develop technical skills, and gain experience working on projects for clients and communities. Walker Consultants provides services related to structural integrity and building performance, including forensic investigations, building-envelope analysis, and restoration. Its teams investigate complex issues and develop durable solutions, while building-envelope specialists focus on continuity, durability, energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and performance.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
- Strong foundation in structural analysis and design principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Nice To Haves
- Interest in restoration, forensics, and problem-solving within the built environment.
- Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering software.
Responsibilities
- Assist project engineers with structural analysis, calculations, and design tasks.
- Support field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments of existing structures.
- Help prepare drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers on restoration, forensic, and design projects.
- Gain exposure to industry software, standards, and best practices.
