About The Position
Garver's Water Design Center (WDC) in Fayetteville, AR is seeking a passionate Structural Engineering Intern to join their team. This internship offers hands-on experience in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other related infrastructure. Interns will gain a basic understanding of the water/wastewater treatment process and the role of structural engineers, contributing to projects that make a difference in communities. The Garver Launch Program provides an immersive summer experience with networking opportunities, wellness programs, volunteer activities, and professional development.
Requirements
- Pursuing a structural engineering major from an ABET accredited program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Development of detailed structural designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other ancillary structures.
- Develop finite element models to analyze various structures.
- Prepare construction cost estimates.
- Review construction submittals.
