Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in college/university and/or on summer break between semesters.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA. This GPA must be maintained throughout the internship.
  • Minimum 10 hour per week commitment.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within the team.
  • Must be willing and able to take initiative when needed.
  • Good MS Office skills including Word and Excel.
  • Good communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations.
  • Positive attitude with strong relationship building skills.
  • Flexibility to learn new skills.
  • Good attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • PowerPoint a plus.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support local design staff with AutoCAD, Revit and Building Information Management (BIM) design.
  • Collect and organize data.
  • Prepare calculations.
  • Prepare charts and graphs.
  • Model using Excel or hydraulic modeling software.
  • Prepare drawings.
  • Backcheck drawing/technical memoranda corrections.
  • Write portions of technical memoranda.
  • Research technical information.
  • Assist with proposal and resume writing.
  • Participate in client interactions.
  • Assist with presentations.
  • Take notes.
  • Conduct field investigations.
  • Coordinate production of reports.
  • Support of design documents (plans and specifications).
