The work applies knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design across a range of projects and clients. The role includes preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications, guiding drawing development, and preparing, reviewing, or guiding structural analysis and design for steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews, and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification, may be required. The role follows a hybrid schedule of three days in the Reading, Pennsylvania office and two days remote. Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group works on nuclear engineering, design, and licensing, including small modular reactors, advanced reactor technology, nuclear plant life extensions and digital modernization, coal-to-nuclear conversion initiatives, and international nuclear new-build projects.
