About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Dallas, TX. This role involves providing specialized technical input for studies and the design of bridges and other road-related infrastructure. The engineer will gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures, work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests, and develop/implement design procedures for high-quality, cost-effective work. Responsibilities also include participating in interdisciplinary reviews, preparing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical effort, performing quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings, preparing technical specifications, and contributing to engineering budgets and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field of study and 5 years of experience as a Bridge Design Engineer, Site Engineer, or in a related occupation OR Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field of study and 3 years of experience as a Bridge Design Engineer, Site Engineer, or in a related occupation
  • Experience in Pre-stressed concrete bridge design
  • Experience in Steel and concrete segmental and arch bridge design
  • Experience in Stay cable bridge design
  • Experience in Erection engineering
  • Experience with finite element software, including SOFiSTiK and Midas
  • Experience with Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Revit

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized technical input for studies and the design of bridges and other road-related infrastructure
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple to complex tests
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement design procedures to support high-quality, cost-effective work
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables
  • Prepare construction cost estimates and estimates of technical effort for projects
  • Perform quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings
  • Prepare technical specifications
  • Contribute to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project-specific requirements
