About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our New Brunswick Structural Team in our Fredericton, NB office. This role involves working in a team environment to solve challenging structural problems, assisting in the growth, mentorship, and technical aspects of the structural team, and focusing on structural projects for the industrial, electrical utility, water and wastewater, material handling, and heavy civil market sectors. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be a problem solver with strong attention to detail, and have the ability to work both independently and on teams.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Design
  • 7+ years of experience in the structural design of industrial structures, material handling and electrical utility support structures, heavy civil and water tank/retaining structures and buildings (all types)
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada with eligibility for registration with APEGNB
  • Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Detail oriented, organized, hardworking, with a team player attitude
  • Ability to balance professional commitments to meet project and client deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license and be able to travel to job sites

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in civil (Structural Engineering)
  • Experience with industry standard software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, S-Frame, Lusas and Revit

Responsibilities

  • Project Management, including financial management, resource management, change order management, and invoicing
  • Business Development
  • Design calculations and analysis
  • Coordination of design support staff
  • Provide mentoring and technical support to junior staff members
  • Preparation of technical specification and construction documents
  • Construction contract administration
  • Periodic site work including meetings, field reviews and measurements
  • Meet and liaise with clients
