About The Position

Innova Solutions has a client that is immediately hiring for a Structural Engineer. This is a Full Time - Contract position with a duration of 12 Months. The role is located in Orlando, FL and is a Hybrid work model. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing the structural components of residential wood structures (and masonry structures in FL), producing repair details and letters with minimal to no supervision. You will also seal structural plans, details, and repairs as needed. Collaboration with architectural staff and other departments (i.e. TIS, Purchasing, Operations, etc.) is a key part of this role. The position requires engineering calculations, preparation of repair details/letters, coordination of structural plans with truss layouts, site visits, and meetings with building officials. A strong understanding of code research is essential. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of residential wood (CMU in FL) design and construction, and the ability to work effectively with other engineers, architectural staff, and Operations. Strong written and verbal skills, creative problem-solving abilities, a strong work ethic, and maintaining a PE license are also crucial.

Requirements

• PE License
• Bachelor’s degree in civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering
• Min. 4 years of engineering experience
• Residential wood, concrete, and CMU design and construction
• Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials and applicable building codes and design principles
• Ability to perform tasks with minimal or no supervision
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Maintain PE license
