About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our AECOM Transportation Department in either our Arlington or Glen Allen, VA office. AECOM is searching for candidates that can be creative and impactful on a wide range of transportation projects. As an Entry-Level Structural Engineer, you will work with multi-discipline project teams in developing a range of engineering solutions from initial concepts to detailed design development and through construction. This is a diverse role that will involve your contributions and insight into the effective delivery of the department’s current and future portfolio of projects. This role is expected to start Summer 2027.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
US Citizenship is required for this position

Strong technical writing and presentation skills
Flexibility to work on a variety of projects, including highways, bridges and tunnels
Flexibility to occasionally work alternate schedules (nights, weekends and holidays) and short-notice work assignments depending on project needs

Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
Ability to clearly communicate technical information in layman’s terms
Masters Degree preferred
Previous experience with Internships
AutoCad, Microstation, MS Office and Structural Analysis Software experience
