About The Position

AECOM Buildings + Places is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to be based in Virginia Beach, VA. The ideal candidate will provide support on a diverse array of exciting projects, developing calculations, drawings, and reports. This role will encompass a wide range of projects across various industries, including government, commercial, and industrial sectors. Additionally, the position offers substantial mentorship opportunities while enhancing technical expertise in structural engineering. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

Previous related internship or professional experience is a plus.
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license.
Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated with strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Assist in the completion of a variety of structural engineering projects.
Perform structural calculations and contract drawings for multiple project types under the supervision of a senior structural engineer.
Apply structural modeling using FEA analysis software under the direction of a lead structural engineer.
Assist with condition assessments and structural investigations.
Assist with construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations.
Ensure project assignments are completed on schedule.
Collaborate with team members and develop technical expertise from industry experts.
Build essential skills to transition to a design professional.
