About The Position

Multi-discipline architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for their Huntington, New York office! Projects include low to mid rise buildings and concrete structures. The role involves leading design teams, preparing calculations and specifications, performing inspections, managing budgets, and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
• 8+ years of Structural Engineering experience
• EIT required
• Experience managing budgets
• Supervisory experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

• PE License preferred
• Experience writing proposal preferred
• Knowledge of ETABS, STAAD.Pro, RAM preferred
• Knowledge of Revit preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead/manage the design team in executing/delivering structural engineering assignments and plans
• Prepare calculations, charts and graphs
• Monitor work for code compliance and accepted engineering practices
• Perform inspection/analysis of existing buildings
• Oversee development of construction drawings and design specifications for bids
• Develop proposal letter that includes technical scope and fee
• Prepare client letters and reports
• Manage projected financial budgets
• Mentor/train junior staff
