About The Position

Tata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC, (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries. The Structural (Senior Engineer) will be stationed at the project site and will be responsible for overseeing all structural works from foundation to superstructure, ensuring they are executed in accordance with approved structural drawings, specifications, and code requirements. The role involves close supervision of concrete, steel, and related structural activities, continuous monitoring of workmanship, and verification of material quality and compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong site experience in structural engineering.
  • Solid understanding of reinforced concrete, steel structures, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in interpreting structural drawings.
  • Deep understanding of how structural systems interact with architectural and MEP elements.
  • Ability to identify deviations, assess risks, and guide execution teams with precise technical instructions.
  • Knowledge of U.S. structural codes, construction safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Confidence in making informed decisions on site.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity in S3D, Revit and Navisworks for reviewing models and construction documentation.
  • Background in the Iron & Steel sector, with involvement in Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant construction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all structural works from foundation to superstructure, ensuring they are executed in accordance with approved structural drawings, specifications, and code requirements.
  • Close supervision of concrete, steel, and related structural activities.
  • Continuous monitoring of workmanship, and verification of material quality and compliance.
  • Close coordination with architectural, MEP, and civil teams to ensure structural elements integrate seamlessly with other disciplines.
  • Reviewing site conditions, addressing technical challenges, recommending feasible solutions, and supporting the resolution of design or execution discrepancies.
  • Reviewing and validating reinforcement details.
  • Monitoring shuttering and formwork practices.
  • Validating contractor submissions.
  • Updating red-line changes.
  • Assisting in the preparation of as-built structural documentation.
  • Regular interaction with project managers, consultants, and client representatives to ensure timely progress, adherence to safety norms, and compliance with structural standards throughout the construction lifecycle.
