Wendel is looking to hire an Entry Level Structural Engineer to work out of our Rochester (NY), Williamsville (NY), Albany (NY), or Middletown (CT) office. This is an incredible opportunity for a recent Structural Engineering graduate to be trained and mentor by our senior level staff! We are also open to hiring someone with a few years of working experience out of school.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required
  • Up to 5 years of Structural Engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of structural engineering software (Bentley RAM products) 3D modeling software (REVIT and AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the structural analysis and design of structural components and systems constructed of structural steel, masonry, reinforced concrete, and wood.
  • Develop gravity and lateral design loads, including dead, live, snow, wind, seismic, and other applicable loads, in accordance with ASCE 7 and governing building codes.
  • Develop structural calculations and analysis for structural building systems and foundations.
  • Assist with the production of structural drawings, details, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other project disciplines, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil.
  • Participate in design and coordination meetings
  • Perform construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review, site observations, and field investigations.
  • Work directly with structural engineering staff, developing knowledge and expertise through offered mentorship.
