About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer based in either our Bloomfield, NJ or New York City office. In this role, you will work on the structural design of buildings and transportation structures for a variety of clients. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer, gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures, and working on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. This role also involves proposing approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments, identifying discrepancies in results, providing guidance to entry-level engineers, and performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position. Requirements

  • BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus four (4) year of relevant experience in structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education

Nice To Haves

  • PE License or the ability to obtain the license within 12 months of employment
  • Specific software experience in ETABS or SAP, RAM Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, SAP2000, MathCAD, SpecsIntact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, Enercalc
  • Revit experience is highly desirable
  • Masters in Structural Engineering
  • Five (5) or more years of professional Structural Engineering design experience of buildings and transportation structures is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues
