About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Indianapolis, IN. This role involves completing construction engineering and bridge design, analyzing and designing steel and concrete bridges using in-house developed guidelines, and resolving engineering queries related to technical issues and the buildability of structures. The engineer will report and record all resolved correspondence for a single source of accurate up-to-date project information, participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, and perform quality control reviews and design reviews of calculations and drawings. Responsibilities also include performing design calculations on calculation spreadsheets, preparing technical specifications, and providing input for the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior staff on company construction methodologies and quality control systems. Up to 5% domestic travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field of study and 4 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Bridge Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation OR Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Bridge Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation
  • Advanced structural analysis software, including SAP2000, ETABS, and RISA
  • AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads Designer
  • Finite element analysis
  • Experience with various building materials including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
  • Building codes, standards, and seismic design principles
  • Construction Supervision

Responsibilities

  • Complete construction engineering and bridge design
