Based in Huntsville, the Structural Engineer will report to the Project Manager and will have a wide range of duties. You will be part of a team that offers services to private and government sector clients throughout Ontario and provides engineering solutions for bridges, buildings, and utility scale power generating facilities. This position is an existing vacancy. The salary range is $80,000 - $107,000 annually.

Requirements

  • P.Eng. licence (required)
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in the civil/structural consulting industry
  • Experience providing mentorship and advice to those on your team
  • Make decisions and exercise independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives
  • Can pivot and alter approach to accomplish desired results
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Valid Class G driver’s licence

Nice To Haves

  • Bridge design experience is an asset
  • Extensive Building Code knowledge and/or a BCIN is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform design and analysis of buildings, bridges, and other new and existing structures
  • Review, check, and approve technical deliverables including reports, technical notes, drawings, and engineering calculations
  • Prepare plans, proposals, specifications, supporting documents, reports, and permit applications
  • Prepare tenders, proposals, and cost estimates
  • Perform construction inspection
  • Assist with project management and construction administration
  • Liaise with clients, build client relations, and advance business development
  • Participate in public and stakeholder consultation
  • Oversee and mentor Engineering Interns and co-op students
