Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Structural Engineer (Level 2) / Principal Structural Engineer (Level 3). This position will be located on-site in Melbourne, FL. This position is for the 1st shift with a 9/80 work schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with no years of experience (for Level 2).
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD Degree with no experience (for Level 3).
- Experience in structural analysis methods and documentation, including classical hand calculation and large Finite Element Model manipulation.
- Experience in structural analysis of mechanical systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors, Masters or PhD Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Demonstrated proficiency with mechanism structural analysis.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Unigraphics NX, CATIA V5 and/or similar CAD packages.
- Demonstrated proficiency with PATRAN, FEMAP, NASTRAN, StressCheck, Abaqus CAE and/or similar Analysis packages.
- Experience working Special Access Programs
- Top Secret US Government Security Clearance
Responsibilities
- Conduct stress analyses on mechanical systems such as mechanically and hydraulicly driven doors as well as their associated locking mechanisms.
- Perform various methods of static analysis including, section checks, lug checks, joint strength and column stability.
- Conduct durability analysis and internal load development of mechanisms including both Freebody and FEM methods.
