About The Position

FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the backup Power Generation Industry. We design and build back up power packages (to include tanks and enclosures) for large and small health, industrial, and technology-oriented businesses that cannot have a power lapse at any time. We are looking to hire a Structural Engineer with excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Structural Engineers are expected to be detail oriented, creative and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Background check and pre-employment drug screening required. To ensure success, Structural Engineers should display an investigative nature and must be accurate, commercially aware and have great communication skills with a keen interest in ensuring the safety and physical integrity of framing, anchorage and other structures. Top candidates will have fantastic project and budget management skills with great knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, FL. Building Code, construction processes, materials and legal regulations.

Requirements

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (essential).
Professional Engineer License (state of Florida required)
4 years of work experience as a Structural Engineer (essential).
Expert experience in project management.
Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations.
Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines.
Three-dimensional conceptual skills.
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail with the superb organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and IT skills

Nice To Haves

Willing to acquire license in other states.
Registered with NCEES.

Responsibilities

Prepare reports, approve designs and drawings.
Make calculations about pressures, loads and stresses.
Professional Engineer License (state of Florida required). Willing to acquire license in other states. (Registered with NCEES).
Consider the strength and size of construction materials and select appropriately based on allowable stresses.
Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.
Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.
Liaise with professional staff such as architects and engineers.
Use computer aided design (CAD, Solid Works or similar) technology for simulation purposes.
