Our Renewal practice provides owners and managers with a home for solutions to a wide range of structural, envelope, and building systems needs for existing properties of every use, age, and construction type. Our multidisciplinary design and assessment services cover a wide range of needs. We perform condition assessments, investigations, feasibility studies, and peer reviews. We design repairs, renovations, and alterations and oversee their execution in the field. As a Structural Engineer Intern in our Restoration & Renewal Practice, you will gain hands-on experience assessing, repairing, and rehabilitating existing buildings and structures. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects ranging from historic preservation to modern renovations, assisting with structural evaluations, documentation, and solution development. This is a unique opportunity to understand how engineers help extend the life and safety of buildings while learning practical approaches to complex renewal challenges. This intern role is for Summer 2027.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in structural repair, renovation, or preservation.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn from experienced engineers.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or structural analysis software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in field investigations, documenting structural conditions, and collecting data for analysis.
• Support evaluation of structural integrity, damage, and deterioration for a range of building types.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and exhibits for internal and client use.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other team members to develop practical repair and rehabilitation solutions.
• Learn and apply industry standards, building codes, and best practices in structural renewal.
