This position would be based in our Minneapolis, MN, Fargo, ND, or Madison, WI office.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school with and emphasis in structural engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 6 or more years of Structural Engineering experience in bridge design preferred.
  • Experience on a variety of state and local engineering projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and produce construction plans and documents using AutoDesk or Bentley design software.
  • Enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for new employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of structural designs and engineering analyses for projects of varying size and complexity, utilizing advanced engineering principles, analysis software, and industry-standard methodologies.
  • Provide technical leadership in the preparation and review of construction plans, specifications, and design documents to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and client requirements.
  • Oversee construction administration activities, including coordinating and conducting field inspections, resolving design-related issues, and providing guidance during project delivery.
  • Direct the preparation of engineering reports, quantity estimates, design details, and contract documents while mentoring junior staff in technical and project execution activities.
  • Lead bridge inspection and load rating efforts, which will require travel.
  • Ensure SRF’s quality procedures are maintained for all work.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
