In the role of Structural Engineer (Buildings), we'll count on you to serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects; resolve problems of greater scope and complexity. Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team from schematic design through the design development and contract document phases of a project. Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team (architecture, MEP engineering, civil engineering, etc.) to lead the production of the structural deliverables for projects. Analyze and design components of the superstructure for building projects. Mentor and train structural interns and EITs within the department and across business groups. Review structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines and resolve conflicts in a timely manner. Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Participate in design development and contract document work sessions at project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines. Coordinate workload throughout the design phases to complete the documents on schedule. Perform construction administration (CA) tasks such as submittal review, respond to requests for information (RFI’s) and other coordination tasks with contractors in the field during construction. Coordinate and assist with affected disciplines, with any addendum, change proposal requests and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents. Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and their respective sizes, and complete necessary calculations. Perform other duties as needed.
