About The Position

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and two days remote. It is an engineering position offering diverse and challenging opportunities in structural engineering, providing an excellent path for career advancement. The role involves collaboration with a team of structural engineers, interfacing with engineers from other disciplines, and guiding less experienced team members. You will work on engineering projects for new nuclear facilities and upgrades/modifications to nuclear power plants, applying knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications, and supporting designers with drawing development. Utilizing state-of-the-art computer tools, you will perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations. There is potential for travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Three or more years of experience working as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of structures, including both AISC steel and ACI concrete designs.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
  • Experience with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MSCE degree.
  • Experience with design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures.
  • On site construction support experience.
  • PE or SE license.
  • Willingness or ability to solve problems using modern tools like automation and AI.
  • Experience building or using automation to create calculations, summarize technical documents, or draft design documentation.
  • Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation.
  • Additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields.

Responsibilities
