Structural Dynamics Engineer 1

ULA•Denver, CO
•Onsite

About The Position

Join the ULA team and make your mark on the future of spaceflight by launching our next generation launch system, Vulcan. ULA launch vehicles have demonstrated unparalleled success in defense, space exploration, and communications missions. You will be joining a passionate, motivated, and highly experienced team that works together in a fast-paced environment to meet our customer’s growing needs and to help solve their toughest integration and operational challenges. In your role in Structural Dynamics, you will perform dynamic response analysis of ULA Launch Systems, including boosters, upper stages, secondary structures, engines and motors, payload accommodations, and spacecraft across flying on the Vulcan rocket. You will support continued development of Vulcan capabilities to address the changing needs of our current customers and the vision of our future customers. The Structural Dynamicist is a highly analytical role, defining design loads, accelerations, and displacements to establish design requirements working with spacecraft teams and internal structural analysts to verify designs. Assignments require an interest in multi-degree-of-freedom dynamic analysis, utilizing mathematical modeling with finite element and component mode synthesis methods, transient, frequency, and random response analysis, and dynamic model correlation and validation. Tasks will support career development in dynamics techniques by working with and learning from a highly experienced team, following established guidelines. Assignments also require developing, documenting, and maintaining processes, methods, and software tools to accomplish assignments. This role includes resolution of programmatic and technical problems that affect cost, schedule, and performance. Strong teamwork and collaboration within the Structural Dynamics team and across multiple engineering and integration disciplines are required, as well as strong communication skills to learn analysis techniques, generate analysis reports and present results to internal and external customers.
