About The Position
Join our growing Civil team as a Structural Designer. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a Designer you will perform engineering models, analysis and/or designs, and supporting calculations / documentation. You will also coordinate the drafting of project elements for various clients. Recent Graduates are encouraged to apply! Location: This position will be in our office in our Raleigh, NC office
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline
- EI or ability to obtain
- 0 to 2+ years of structural design experience
- Excellent communication and client relation skills.
- Progressive experience with developing plans and specifications utilizing MicroStation
- Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
- Ability to perform complex analysis and design
- Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with NCDOT is a benefit.
- Experience with MicroStation is a benefit.
Responsibilities
- Performing basic analysis of project elements
- Performing load development and designing calculations of project elements and checking work
- Preparing organized structural calculations
- Designing and drafting structural elements and details
- Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
- Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned
- Working independently under the guidance of a Project Manager
