About The Position

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation provides material handling systems and solutions, including conveyor and sortation systems, warehouse controls software, robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems, mezzanines, and structures. The Structural Designer II participates in projects from the quoting stage through final engineering. Typical projects involve designing and installing industrial steel storage racks, structural steel platforms, conveyor support structures, shelving, elevated walkways, and custom products for large distribution centers. Requirements

Associate degree in Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical design, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency with Advance Steel, Revit, and AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to learn the material handling business and assist across teams and divisions within Daifuku.
Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and vendors.
Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of structural steel detailing experience preferred.
Previous material handling or construction experience.
Proficiency with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Structural Engineering team to review project designs, establish detailing requirements, and develop project schedules and milestones.
Prepare detailed fabrication drawings and models using Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Collaborate with the Structural Engineering team to identify, evaluate, and resolve design and detailing issues.
Develop steel erection drawings, deck layouts, and flooring plans to support field installation.
Generate bills of material for fabricated steel, decking, and flooring components to support purchasing and fabrication.
Assist Structural Engineers with the layout, detailing, and design of new structures and modifications to existing storage systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
Travel occasionally to project sites for field verification, coordination, and construction support.
Evaluate detailing solutions to optimize project efficiency, constructability, and cost-effectiveness.
Review, optimize, and document detailing procedures for efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
