About The Position

Seeking a Structural Designer EIT for a firm that works with clients across the United States to combat the affordable housing crisis by reimagining construction with world-class innovation. They define success by constructability and achieve it through highly coordinated BIM models and a carefully executed quality control plan. This position is based in the office at our McKinney, TX location to foster collaboration, mentorship, and professional growth. Open to hybrid opportunity. As a Structural Designer EIT, you’ll start your career in a collaborative environment focused on production efficiency, constructability, and real-world application. You’ll support senior engineers in the design of structural systems for multifamily, hospitality, retail, and commercial projects, gaining hands-on experience while learning our production-focused approach to design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 0 to 2 years of building design experience.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, and structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, ETABS, or similar).
  • Basic understanding of structural design codes and standards, including the International Building Code (IBC), ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and NDS.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing clarity and directness.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience with or interest in building design.
  • Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Structural Design, or the ability and interest to pursue future certification.
  • Experience with or exposure to translating design concepts into practical, buildable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update structural drawings and BIM models in Revit, ensuring accuracy, coordination, and adherence to company standards.
  • Support the design and analysis of foundations, framing systems, shear walls, and connections for concrete, steel, and wood structures.
  • Ensure designs meet company standards and comply with industry codes and local requirements.
  • Engage in continuous learning and contribute to improving our internal standards and documentation.
  • Work alongside senior engineers and mentors to gain the knowledge and experience needed to advance into higher levels of responsibility.
