About The Position

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days a week in the office and two days remote. The position offers the opportunity to utilize creativity and innovation to develop CAD 3D design models of steel structures and concrete foundations used to produce 2D drawing deliverables. The role involves supporting senior designers by producing structural drawings that are completed on-time and within budget, while maintaining quality, consistency, and accountability that meets or exceeds customer requirements. Collaboration with mechanical and electrical designers to resolve clashes within the 3D model, optimizing the overall design, is also a key responsibility. Travel to client facilities with experienced project team members may be necessary to verify on-site physical design conditions. The role requires adapting to a wide range of technologies in power generation, mining, oil & gas, and renewables, with a focus on leading technologies in carbon capture, solar, wind, battery storage, hydrogen, and natural gas.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred
  • CAD certificate required if non-degreed
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in structural design.
  • Proficiency in at least one major CAD software (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation).
  • Awareness of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design
  • Awareness of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design
  • Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management

Responsibilities
