About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking a CAD Operator to join their Transmission Line, Structural team in Denver, Colorado. This role involves using basic computer drafting software to create site plans and construction drawings for Power Delivery Infrastructure systems, including transmission lines, distribution lines, and substations. The position requires designing and producing plan sets, implementing AutoCAD drafting standards, maintaining the drawing database, and performing routine data accuracy checks. The individual will also develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0 to 3 years of relevant experience
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
• Ability to work independently and with a team

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree preferred
• Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products preferred

Responsibilities

• Use basic computer drafting software to generate site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects
• Contribute to the design of Power Delivery Infrastructure systems, including transmission lines, distribution lines, and substations
• Design and produce sets of plans
• Implement and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards
• Assist in maintaining the drawing database
• Perform routine analysis to check accuracy of data
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
