About The Position

ADTEK Engineers, Inc. is looking for a high school student to intern with us as a Structural CAD/BIM Technician to work on a variety of structural design projects. This position could have exposure to various commercial, government, and multi-family residential buildings projects. Having good attention to detail, ability to work in a team, and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment are keys to success as a structural technical intern. As a high school intern, you will participate in projects by assisting in basic structural CAD and BIM design, supervised by professional licensed engineers.

Requirements

• High school student enrolled in an CAD course or has prior CAD experience
• Consistent availability during the school year (the exact schedule would be determined after placement)
• Ability to study comments provided by engineer or project manager and double-check your own work for accuracy.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Revit Modeling and AutoCAD design and drafting of building and related structures
• Setting up backgrounds, schedules and details for structural projects
• Translating all mark ups into drawings
• Checking and plotting drawings
• Using developed standards and procedures to determine design criteria, drawing sequence and presentation.
