About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Senior Project Manager to work in Western PA locations. The successful candidate will manage structural led design projects that will include simple and complex bridges and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures and other miscellaneous structures). Bridge design work encompasses new and replacement bridges, bridge widening, and bridge rehabilitation. Prior project management experience along with a strong understanding of associated disciplines and construction operations is desired. The candidate will be responsible to oversee all phases of project development including planning, scheduling, inspection, analysis, design, development of contract plans, cost estimates, and technical specifications and reports. Successfully leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and drafters along with coordination with clients will be required to complete assignments. The position also requires the candidate to be actively involved in business development including client management and responding to requests for proposals. The ability and willingness to mentor less experienced staff is required. A desire to grow into a position of Departmental leadership is preferred. Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering (MS in Structural Engineering preferred).
  • PA PE license.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience working on bridge transportation projects.
  • Ability to mentor less experienced staff.
  • Sound oral and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills; and a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years of experience with PennDOT design standards and current state of practice such as accelerated bridge construction and prefabricated bridge elements are preferred.
  • Prior project management experience along with a strong understanding of associated disciplines and construction operations is desired.
  • A desire to grow into a position of Departmental leadership is preferred.

Responsibilities
