About The Position

MDA Space is seeking a Structural Analyst to join their satellite systems team at their Montreal office. This role involves developing the structural design of space antennas and electronic equipment within a concurrent engineering team. The analyst will perform static, dynamic, and thermoelastic analyses using standard techniques, Nx/Nastran, and other software. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
8 to 10 years of direct experience in structural dynamics (modal, sinusoidal, random) as well as in static and thermoelastic analyses using NASTRAN FEA software, preferably in an NX environment.
Good communication skills.

Experience with acoustic analysis.
Experience with structural testing (vibration testing, modal testing, etc.).
Bilingualism (interacting with clients outside Quebec and drafting deliverables in English).
Experience in the space industry and an understanding of RF requirements are a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop the structural design of space antennas and electronic equipment.
Perform static, dynamic, and thermoelastic analyses using standard analysis techniques, Nx/Nastran, and other commercial or in-house software.
Size components, identify problem areas, suggest modifications, or guide the design as necessary.
Calculate safety margins and document the analyses.
Develop test procedures, conduct tests, and write test reports to demonstrate the validity of the design.
