The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Experienced or Senior Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• Experience with Nastran/Patran Finite Element Models (FEM)
• Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models
• 5 or more years of experience in structural analysis
• Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
• This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

• 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Active U.S. Secret Clearance
• Experience with Hypermesh, Abaqus CAE, and/or Nastran
• Experience validating or verifying finite element model results and/or through a test program
• Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
• Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
• Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives – Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)
• Experience with supporting structural NCR analysis in a fast-paced aircraft build environment
• Experience with Boeing Structural analysis methods and tools
• Experience with structural certification through FAA
• Experience with LRU/equipment qualification

Responsibilities

• ( Level 3) Develops, integrates, and documents structural requirements to validate Airframe Stress design and Finite Element Modelling and Loadcase assessment
• Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment, characteristics, and performance of the product
• Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
• Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
• Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths
• Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
• Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
• Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
• Works under general direction
• Works with customers and regulatory agencies to define and maintain certification processes that will ensure requirements are met
• Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts
• Oversees compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis and finite element modelling
• Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements
• Works under consultative direction
• Understands the unique challenges of working a Legacy program that was originally certified using 2D drawings, in contrast to a new development program which is purely Model Based
• (Level 4) Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
• Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment, characteristics, and performance of the product
• Develops and uses Finite Element Models
• Understands proper application of loads in FEMs
• Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths
• Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
• Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts
• Ensures compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis, DaDT analysis, and finite element modelling in the accomplishment of work
• Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
• Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
• Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
• Works under minimal direction.
