Structural Analysis Engineer

BoeingBerkeley, MO
$103,700 - $140,300Onsite

About The Position

The position is with the Composite Materials & Structures group. The group develops, integrates, and transitions advanced structural architectures and design concepts. We also advance the state of the art in methods and tools for structural analysis. We work across Boeing's product life-cycle and develop technologies for commercial aircraft, military aircraft, rotorcraft, space vehicles, UAVs, and advanced vehicle prototypes. The ideal candidate will have desire to perform research & development into new composite material and structures, such as the development of advanced methods for analysis of fracture, fatigue, strength and damage tolerance of composites. Other areas of interest could be Structural Optimization, Generative AI Design, or Advanced Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis. Desired experience with structural analysis of composite and metal structure, and finite element simulations using NASTRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, and coding in VBA, Python, or Matlab. The successful candidate will apply advanced structural analysis techniques to develop and validate composite aerospace components. This role requires expertise in stress, fatigue, and failure analysis of composite materials, utilizing analytical and computational tools to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) tools (HyperX, ABAQUS, LSDYNA)
  • Experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves
