About The Position

Boeing St. Louis is seeking Experienced or Senior Structural Analysis Engineers to verify structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle. These roles will develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance for current and emerging aircraft programs within the Air Dominance division of Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS). The positions are located in the Greater St. Louis region, including Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; St. Louis, MO; St. Charles, MO; and Mascoutah, IL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Experience performing hand calculations.
  • Experience using industry CAD system (NX/Teamcenter).
  • Experience using FEM software (ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Stresscheck, Hyperworks).
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Boeing Analysis Tools (CAESAR, Lifeworks, Mechanica, Common Structures Workstation).
  • Structural analysis experience on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design.
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Lead development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design (Level 4).
  • Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance (Level 4).
  • Lead development of test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications (Level 4).
  • Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements (Level 4).
  • Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort (Level 4).
