About The Position

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Lead) to support our Spares Engineering Design located in Long Beach, CA. This role involves planning and performing payload work at the subcomponent level to ensure compliance with structural integrity and requirements. The engineer will provide solutions for Boeing's entire portfolio within problematic supplier situations, review and approve analyses, and guide a team of less experienced engineers. Collaboration with Team Managers, Leads, Project Engineers, Stress, Suppliers, and Procurement is essential for approving analyses and ensuring requirements are met. The role also includes developing analytical processes to enhance effectiveness, quality, and efficiency, and presenting the team independently during supplier interactions. Experience with design release processes, policies, procedures, handling tooling issues, and supplier-driven changes is expected, along with the ability to interpret industry/company standards and processes. Familiarity with tools such as CatiaV5, Enovia, STEALTH, QMAP, REDARS, ETAC, ESPEC, Bridge, and other industry engineering tools is required.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of experience working with aircraft stress analysis/structural analysis.
  • 5 + years of experience working on commercial or commercial derivative aircraft.
  • 3 + years of experience with 3D modeling, 2D drawings and drawing packages.
  • 3 + years of experience in aircraft structure, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or Aerospace Engineering or Physics from an ABET accredited program.
  • Experience in design release processes, policies and procedures, handling tooling issues, supplier driven changes.
  • Being able to Interpret Industry/Company Standards & Processes.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience functioning as a Design Engineer (DE).
  • 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas: Support System Analysis, Spares, Provisioning, Technical Data, Training, Maintenance/Modifications and Support Equipment.
  • 5+ year of experience leading engineering teams.
  • Ability to obtain LAE/DAE/DDE prior to assignment start.
  • 3+ years of experience functioning as a Design Approval Engineer (DAE).

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Team manager and leads to assist other team members.

  • Present team independently during interaction with suppliers.
  • Work and coordinate with other engineering groups to ensure requirements are met.
  • Develop analytical process to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
