About The Position

Vancouver General Hospital Division of Neurology is seeking RCPSC Certified Neurologists with fellowship training in Stroke and Cerebrovascular disease. The person hired will have the opportunity to establish a full-scope stroke subspecialty practice with expectation to participate in general neurology service. Clinical on-call responsibilities are divided between 12 stroke neurologists for the stroke service and all (30+) neurologists for the general neurology service. Hospital outpatient clinics include stroke clinic and rapid access general neurology clinic. VGH is a teaching hospital and therefore teaching with medical students, residents and fellows are mandatory. Research and other academic activities are assets. Requirements

  • RCPSC Certified Neurologist
  • Fellowship training in Stroke and Cerebrovascular disease
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) - Mandatory
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Mandatory
  • Minimum 1 year of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease fellowship
  • Interest in large vessel vasculopathy or stroke rehabilitation and medical education
