About The Position

Atlanta Classical Academy seeks a part-time Strings Instructor to teach string orchestra. Teachers are responsible for the education of their students and are expected to demonstrate high moral character and mastery of their subject. The Strings Instructor will work collaboratively with faculty and students to foster a love of music and develop technical proficiency through classical training. This position currently teaches two sections of Elective Strings in the Upper School (grade 7-12), three after school classes for the Lower School, plus one 3rd grade survey semester. In support of string program goals, the successful applicant will also create and lead a variety of non-classroom rehearsals and performances. This part-time position is for the 2026-2027 school year and reports to the Fine Arts Director.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field from an accredited college is required.
Strong proficiency in performance of a string instrument, with experience teaching group heterogenous lessons.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous teaching experience in classical string instruction is preferred.
Experience with classical education is preferred but not required.
